Basic Jail Course
Basic Jail Officers Course covers the National Sheriff's Jail Officer's Training Program; Defensive Tactics, O.C. Spray; CPR and First Aid. The registration cost covers all materials needed for class. The only equipment needed is one pair of handcuffs. The course will be held at the Lee County Sheriff's Department at 510 N. Commerce Street in Tupelo, MS. There is only enough room for 20 students in each class. The tuition is $400. Mississippi Standards and Training will reimburse your department 100% for this training.
We primarily train corrections officers. We provide the basic corrections class needed to be certified by the State of Mississippi's Standards and Training. After completion of this course, the detention officer is provided with a professional certificate from Standards and Training. We have nine certified instructors on staff.
