The Tupelo/Lee Co. Adult Jail can house approximately 200 prisoners. We hold prisoners for not only our department but for Tupelo and all other municipalities within our county. The jail, which was completed in 1997, offers many services to the prisoners who are housed here. The inmates have access to a library, educational classes, alcohol/drug dependency classes and a courtyard for recreational time.
Commissary & Property
 | Linda Beichler oversees this division where her duties are to order and distribute all commissary orders from the inmates; opening, examining, logging and distributing all incoming and outgoing inmate mail; responsible for keeping up with and dispersing the profit from the sales of the commissary items. She also orders inmate supplies such as hygeine items, uniforms, and linens for the inmates, which are provided by our facility. Food Service
 | The contract agency prepares menus, checks calorie counts, purchases food, cooks, serves and provides food for roughly 264,800 meals per year. Approximately 700 meals are prepared each day by the kitchen supervisor and 4 trustees. These trustees are trained in food preparation, handling foods, cleanliness, food temperature and cross contamination. During season, this division puts up vegetables and fruit. This division provides meals for the Adult Jail, Juvenile Detention Center and the Work Center. The Food Service Division gladly accepts all food donations for the inmate food program. |
Facility Maintenance
Jail Ministry
The inmate Jail Ministry is constructed to assist inmates with spiritual needs. It is made up of lay persons who meet strict requirements. They must go through a training program that equips them with the rules and regulations of the jail and also covers basic security needs. This is a very important program to our detention center. For more information on this service contact Capt. Bryan Hall at 662-841-9739.
